1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies to portsmith.app, Portsmith for macOS and its update downloads, the retired standalone Agent Island preview and its frozen downloads, purchases, license delivery, and support communications. Three Olives Creative LLC is responsible for the personal information it receives for these purposes. Contact us at hello@threeolivescreative.com.
Lemon Squeezy separately acts as merchant of record and legal seller for checkout and processes personal information under its own privacy policy and buyer terms.
2. Website and update-host information
When you visit the website or an update/download URL, our hosting provider may process ordinary request and security-log information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser or user-agent information, requested URL, referring URL, response status, and timestamps. We use this infrastructure to deliver the site and files, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse.
We do not use first-party analytics, advertising pixels, behavioral profiling, or our own tracking cookies. Lemon Squeezy’s checkout script is requested only after you intentionally select the Portsmith Buy action; Lemon Squeezy may then receive browser, device, network, cookie, and checkout information under its own policies.
3. Purchases and license delivery
Lemon Squeezy collects the information needed to complete a purchase, which may include name, email address, billing address, country, tax information, payment information, device/network information, and fraud-prevention signals. We do not directly receive or store your complete payment-card number.
Lemon Squeezy may provide us with purchaser email, order number, product, price, currency, tax and payment status, timestamps, and refund or dispute status. We use those records to verify orders, create and deliver offline license keys, maintain an order ledger, provide support, prevent fraud, and meet accounting or legal duties.
4. Information processed on your Mac
Portsmith uses public macOS process interfaces to inspect local listener and process information that your user account can access. Depending on the feature, this can include local ports and addresses, process identifiers, names, executable paths, command arguments, parent/child relationships, bundle identifiers, CPU and memory statistics, uptime, and locally derived host or project labels.
Portsmith's opt-in Agent Activity feature is default-OFF. When you enable it, Portsmith inspects local process identity, parent/child relationships, command and bundle facts, and bounded CPU samples used to recognize and summarize supported Agent sessions. To represent work delegated by an Agent accurately, a sample may also read bounded activity from readable non-Agent child or background processes and aggregate it into the nearest top-level Agent session. Those descendant processes are not surfaced as additional top-level Agent sessions. Agent Activity is included in every Portsmith trial and license. The standalone Agent Island build is a retired preview, not a current offer.
This process information stays on your Mac. We do not receive it as analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting. Trial and license facts are stored locally in the macOS Keychain and Application Support. A license key may contain the purchaser email that was signed into the key; the app verifies it offline.
5. Update connections
Portsmith uses an active Sparkle update feed to request signed update metadata and, when you approve or an enabled update setting permits it, download updates from updates.portsmith.app. The retired standalone Agent Island preview's Sparkle feed is frozen and receives no further updates. The update host can receive the ordinary request data described above. Update requests do not include the local process inventory or your license key.
6. Support communications
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, headers, attachments, and any information you choose to provide, such as an order number or diagnostic details. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, deliver or reissue a license after verifying a purchase, keep appropriate support records, and protect against abuse. Please do not send payment card details or unrelated sensitive information.
7. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal information only as needed to:
- perform a contract, including order verification, license delivery, and support;
- operate, secure, debug, and improve the website, downloads, and support workflow;
- pursue legitimate interests in preventing fraud, abuse, and license misuse;
- comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, and other legal obligations; and
- act on consent where applicable law requires consent.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it for behavioral advertising.
9. Retention
We retain order, license, and transaction records for as long as reasonably necessary to deliver and support a lifetime license, prevent duplicate or fraudulent issuance, maintain accounting records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Support messages are kept while needed to resolve the request and for reasonable follow-up or legal recordkeeping.
Hosting and checkout providers apply their own retention schedules. On-device app data remains on your Mac until you remove it through the product, macOS, or manual deletion, subject to local Keychain and backup behavior.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and complain to a privacy or data-protection authority. These rights can be limited by identity verification, transaction records we must retain, legal obligations, and other lawful exceptions.
Send requests to hello@threeolivescreative.com and describe the request and the email used for any purchase. We may ask for enough information to verify identity and protect another person’s data. Lemon Squeezy controls checkout data it processes independently; use its privacy channels for requests directed to Lemon Squeezy.
11. California and browser privacy signals
Categories we may process include identifiers (such as email and IP address), commercial information (such as product and order status), internet activity (such as request logs), and support content you provide. Sources are you, Lemon Squeezy, and website/update infrastructure. The purposes and recipient categories are described above.
Because we do not sell personal information or use cross-site behavioral advertising, browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change our first-party behavior. Third-party checkout and infrastructure providers may respond under their own policies. You may request review or correction of information by contacting us.
12. Children
The website and products are intended for adults and professional users, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the limited information we handle, including offline license verification and established providers for checkout and hosting. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Policy changes
We may update this policy when products, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide any additional notice or choice required by law.
